reject defective materials and workmanship or require
its correction. Rejected workmanship ahull be cctisfac- torily corrected, and rejected materials shall be satisfecrorily replaced with proper materials without charge thereof > and the Contractor shall promptly segregate and remove the rejected materials from the site. If the Contractor fails to proceed at once with 
the replacement of rejected materials and/or tho correc tion of defective workmanship, the Employer may, be contract or otherwise, replace such materials and/or correct such worftmanehip and charge the cost thereof to the Contractor, or may terminate the right of the Contractor to precocd as provided in Clause 5 above, the Contractor and surety being liable far any damage ti the oame extent as provided In said clauses 5 for termination thereunder^ provided, however, that if any part of the work a& installed be at variance with the

Special, full-size and performance tests shall be as described in the Specifications. c)   Should it be considered necessary or advisable bj the Engineer at any time before final acceptance of he

defective or not to conform in any material respect, due
to fault of the Contractor or his Sub-Contractors, he

actual direct cost of labour and materials necessarily involved in the examination and replacement, plus f if tee: percent (15^), shall be paid to the Contractor and he shall, in addition, if completion of the work baa bean delayed thereby, bo granted a suitable extension of time on account cf the additional work involved.
d)        Inspection of materials and finished articles to be incorporated in the wprk at tho Site shall be made at the place of production, manufacture or shipment, only when shop or mill inspection ie required by the
Specifications, and such inspection end written ar othei formal acceptance, unless otherwise stated in the Specifications, shall be final, except as regurdo laten- defects, departure from specific requirements of the contract, damage or loss in transit, fraud or .such gros; mistake* as maount to fraud.

the work for any other purpose. An endorsement by the Engineer's Representative at the Site ahull be attached 
to this notice which shall not relieve the Contractor of
his responsibilities in the matter. Inspection and testa will be rade within ten (10} days from the date specified in the aforesaid advance notice.
16.       SUPERVISION
a} The authorised representative of the Employer, as to 
the proper interpretation of the Drawings and opecificatior is the Engineer, Nothing shall excuse the Contractor
from proceeding with the work in accordance with the determination of the Engineer as to the interpretation 
of the Drawings and Specification.
b)   All work shall be done under the supervision of the Engineer,

a)   After the award of the Contract, the Contractor shall furnish for the approval of the Engineer, iimples
required by the specifications or requested by the Engineer, Samples shall be delivered vc the Engineer unless otherwise directed. The Contractor shall prepay 
all chipping chargee on smaples. Materials or equipment for which samples are required ehall not be used in
the work until approved in writing by the Engineer, 
save only at the Contractor’s risk and expense.
b)   Each sample shall have a label indicating
1.     Nano of the project.
2.     Homo of the Contractor.
3.     Material or equipment represented.
4.     place of origin.
5.     Name of producer and brand (in an?/).

Samples of finished, materials shall have additional markings that will identify them under the finish schedules.
c)        The Contractor shall mail under separate cover a letter in triplicate submitting each shipment of samples containing the information required in (b) above. He shall enclose a copy of this letter with the shipment
and send a copy to the engineer’s Representative on the project. Approval of a sample shall be only for
the characteristics or use named in such approval and shall not be construed to change ar modify any Contract requirement. Before submitting samples, the Contractor 3hall assure himself that the materials or equipment will be available in the quantities required in the Project, because no change or fnibsitution will bo
