Ramani's Products and Services The company's operations are separated into 3 main departments- Land Survey, Remote Sensing and GIS and Mapping. The 10 products and services we offer fall within each of these departments and more often than not a solution for a client will require services from each department. The products and services are outlined in more detail in the following information sheets. The diagram below gives an overview of the different products we are able to offer. Ramani's Land Survey department consists of 6 survey teams equipped to carryout surveys across Africa using state of art equipment. The team carries out 3 main types of surveys; engineering and topographical surveys, geodetic control surveys and terrestrial 3D laser scanning surveys. The team works extensively in the engineering, mining and architectural fields and works closely with the aerial photography team providing accurate ground control.Remote Sensing Ramani's Remote Sensing department deals with all services and products relating to lidar data, aerial imagery and satellite imagery. The company owns two aircraft two digital camera systems and an airborne LiDAR system with the department's main role as aerial photography, airborne lidar and processing of imagery and point cloud. The team uses photogrammetry software form Inpho and Leica, leaders in the field. The team comprises of 10 people, both field and office based. GIS and Mapping Ramani's GIS and Mapping department offers services for GIS users including any form of digitisation, supply of GIS ready vector data and development and supply of telecoms planning data such as clutter and 3D city model data. The team use the latest GIS software for their data capture, manipulation and analysis and high resolution imagery from the Remote Sensing department to generate the products. The team also specialises in general field mapping such as the collection of points of interest. The People The Ramani team is a young, energetic and technically capable team. A team that strives everyday to ensure that quality standards are exceeded every time and the products and services are delivered on time, all the time. A great focus of the team is communication with the client to ensure they feel part of the process and are abreast of the project progress. The management team that leads Ramani has each over 10 years experience in their fields thus having the experience enabling them to deliver world class products and services. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for consultancy service on Topographic Survey in Lake Tana Sub-basin Flood plain Areas under Tana & Beles integrated Water Resource Development project. The main objectives of the topographic survey are: • To prepare detailed Topographic map (large scale contour map) that will help to identify the existing nature of all the flood plain features, including specific landscape that may be affected by different level of floods. This work will support accurate flood plain modelling. • To identify every detail spot contours that improves the quality of risk maps The detailed activities should include but not limited to the following activities: • Site description including plan number, lot number, and district lot. • Location map at appropriate scale indicating the regional setting. • Site map at appropriate scale indicating the layout of project components and activities. • Controls, vertical and horizontal references. • Site profiles and cross sections in sufficient number to demonstrate terrain conditions have to be prepared. • Site plans /sketches/ colour photographs indicating project location, site features and activities identified in relation to easily identifiable landmarks such as those found on accompanying maps.
