Melka Sadi-Amibara Irrigation Project
Scope: To determine the technical and economic feasibility of developing, through irrigation, an area of 17,000 ha for agricultural purposes.

- Appraisal of drainage problems, waterlogging and salinity conditions
- Study of ecologically possible crops and selection of cropping patterns

Technical Feasibility Study of the Meki River Diversion Scheme
Scope: To study the technical possibilities of diverting the Meki River into the Awash River to increase water resources for power and irrigation.

- Study of probable effects of diverting part or all of the Meki River
- Examination of alternative possibilities for diverting flow
- Hydrogeological investigations of Lake Koka
- Geological and subsoil investigations of diversion structures and canals
- Preliminary design of diversion structures and canals (total length about 20 km)
